What to expect

Work is complete.

Crews closed Southeast Eastgate Way near the Eastgate Park and Ride for about five weeks to repair a damaged steel girder that supports the 142nd Place Southeast overpass.

On Aug. 8, 2022, a vehicle hauling an over-height load struck a girder that supports 142nd Place Southeast over I-90 and Eastgate Way. The collision tore a portion of the girder and bent it about 6 inches out of line. Eastgate Way was closed during the investigation, then reopened. Crews closed the northbound lane of 142nd Place Southeast, which is expected to reopen in April after completion of repairs to the bridge girder.
