What to expect

This project would widen Northeast 1st Street to accommodate inbound and outbound ferry travelers. There would be two-way traffic between Washington Boulevard and West Kingston/Iowa Street.

This project also would create a more people-oriented street on Main Street in Kingston.

Whisper Creek, which runs in a culvert under Iowa Avenue, First Street and State Route 104 in downtown Kingston, exits into Puget Sound next to the Kingston Ferry Terminal. More time was added to the overall project schedule as WSDOT evaluates requirements associated with work on Whisper Creek.
