SR 529/Snohomish River & Steamboat Slough - Bridge Repair, Rehab & Paint

Project overview

The Snohomish River and Steamboat Slough bridges had wear and tear from 70 to nearly 100 years of service. Beginning in 2023, crews working for WSDOT rehabilitated a portion of the northbound SR 529 Snohomish River Bridge between Everett and Marysville by repairing or replacing steel truss elements, substructure elements, sway frames, timber sidewalks, cleaning and painting metal surfaces, and mechanical and electrical rehabilitation. Crews also completed work on the SR 529 Steamboat Slough bridges, repairing the mechanisms and balancing each of the bridges so they continue to open and close smoothly.
