Rider updates

Find out how we how we will expand service starting in June 2025 and operate if a ferry becomes unavailable.

Service Contingency Plan

We released an updated Service Contingency Plan (PDF 2.4MB) in May 2025. It explains how we will restore service to three routes starting in June 2025. The plan also describes what we will do if a ferry becomes unavailable. This could happen because of crew shortages or unexpected problems with a vessel or terminal. Our goal is to be honest with customers by clearly showing how will provide as much service as possible. The plan is an update to our 2024 Service Contingency Plan (PDF 832KB), which provided a framework for service decisions over the coming years.

These service contingency plans replace our 2022 COVID-19 Service Restoration Plan (PDF 794KB) and its 2023 Update (PDF 1MB). Those earlier plans outlined how we would increase service to meet growing demand as we recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic. They also addressed ongoing challenges with crew and vessel availability.

Slow down – lives are on the line.

Excessive speed was a top cause of work zone collisions in 2024.

Phone down, eyes up.

Work zones need our undivided attention.

It's in EVERYONE’S best interest.

96% of people hurt in work zones are drivers, their passengers or passing pedestrians, not just our road crews.
